As I cryptically mentioned in the review above, I felt that the season lost a lot when Julia died. It went from a show with a center and purpose, which was about two people navigating a difficult world together who had complicated lives and who might be developing feelings for each other, with a backdrop of terrorism, conspiracy, and mysteries to solve, to a murder mystery and confusing political conspiracy, centered on watching David unravel and wondering which would happen first- would he break down and cease to function in society or would he solve the murder? Both the mystery and the conspiracy careened out of control along with David, with conflicting evidence appearing and disappearing.

A few end-of-season shoutouts: to John Strickland for a tensely directed final episode, Sophie Rundle for ensuring that her part was always more than simply that of the wife and Stuart Bowman for making Stephen Hunter-Dunn superbly slippery.

The first season of Bodyguard premiered August 26, 2018 and ended September 23, 2018. It was broadcast on BBC. It consists of six episodes, all written by Jed Mercurio. Thomas Vincent directed the first three episodes, with John Strickland directing the last three episodes.

As we're now well into 2022 and there's been no filming, the earliest we will see Bodyguard season 2 is 2023. It could even be 2024! The makers don't seem in a mad rush to make it, which is a shame for fans.

"I think the problem with putting things in the first season that have no relevance to the first season is that you can end up making something quite difficult to follow. It feels like things don't quite knit together and so you lose the pace and the narrative drive that you should be trying to go for with a thriller series."

Peaky Blinders and Gentleman Jack season 2 star Sophie Rundle could return as David's estranged wife, Vicky, while characters such as Commander Anne Sampson (Gina McKee), DS Louise Rayburn (Nina Toussaint-White) and DCI Deepak Sharma (Ash Tandon) could also be back.

Okay, so we can all agree that Richard Madden's body would be some nice eye-candy to ogle while guarding our bodies. But, as it turns out, he's not-so-bad to watch play a bodyguard, either. Madden stars as Met Police Officer David Budd, reassigned to Protective Services. Read more details below.

The only thing "wrong" with this series is that it's limited and only 6-episodes. As I explain on our standom page, so far there are no concrete plans for a second season. A "limited series" means the programme is only meant for a single season.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, series star Richard Madden (Robb Stark on Game of Thrones) revealed that plans are already in motion for Bodyguard Season 2, even though the original intention was to make just a single season.

One show that has fans wondering about the future is Bodyguard. The first season aired three years ago, so it certainly would be a delightful surprise to see a second season come after all this time, but fans have reason to be optimistic.

The fact is, anyone with storytelling acumen can tell that Bodyguard was initially conceptualized as a one-off. Madden's class-crossing love interest, The Rt. Hon. Julia Montague MP (played by Keeley Hawes) did not survive the first season. Madden's character, PS David Budd, ends the show vindicated, back with his family, and most importantly, in therapy for the raging case of PTSD he brought home from the war. While the government may still be corrupt, and those who wormed their way up the chain as greasy as those taken out, for the characters that matter, a happy ending was reached.

This is where the good news for fans also comes in. Up until now, Line of Duty has been tucked away on Hulu where few have noticed it. But with the success of Bodyguard, Acorn TV made an aggressive push and secured the rights to air Season 5 over here. The streaming service has also picked up the first four seasons, which are available streaming anytime.

This is a very difficult question to answer. The first season of "Bodyguard" was released in August and September of 2018, and British shows are notoriously slow at producing new seasons, so fans knew it would be a while before new episodes came out. As of right now, the series isn't officially renewed or cancelled, but that doesn't mean much, as Madden, Mercurio, and others involved with "Bodyguard" have been commenting on a second season ever since the first ended, and it seems practically guaranteed. The question is just when.

At the end of "Bodyguard" Season 1, Budd successfully uncovers who's behind Montague's assassination, along with a few people within the government who are manipulating the system to allow for shady dealings to go unnoticed. Budd is officially cleared of any crimes related to Montague's death, and he decides to get help for his PTSD in order to repair his relationships with Vicky and his kids. With the way their relationship is at the end of the season, it seems like Budd and Vicky will not be getting back together, each planning to move on and meet other people, but they will continue co-parenting.

Rakharo was a loyal Dothraki bodyguard to Daenerys Targaryen. Following the birth of her dragons he was named a bloodrider by his Khaleesi. He was killed by a rival khalasar while scouting the Red Waste.

In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Jhogo is sixteen years old at the start of the series and favors a combination of the whip and arakh in battle. He is a warrior in Drogo's khalasar and is assigned to Daenerys as bodyguard by her new husband.

The character of Rakharo is similar, but is older and more seasoned than Jhogo. He has a long, curving mustache and wields the arakh alone in combat. Based on his repeated use of the whip, the Rakharo of the TV series appears to be predominantly based on the Jhogo character from the books. 041b061a72
